The Bean Connection Silliman
Some of the city's homegrown coffee shops make Starbucks and CBTL look boring if you ask me. Check out The Bean Connection's 2nd branch which opened today at Portal West. Charming and cozy, TBC 2 has more character than your run-of-the-mill overpriced upscale coffee shop.
Eastwest Rural Bank
This Butuan-based rural bank was recently acquired by Eastwest Bank but its operations remain separate. Greenbank Dumaguete opened yesterday beside AIM Coop, V. Locsin St.; it's the city's 40th bank. It has since been renamed Eastwest Rural Bank.

Gong Cha
Gong Cha is a Taiwanese milk tea chain with branches in several Asian cities including Manila. A kiosk was opened at Robinsons Place a few days ago and I have no idea how much wintermelon and matcha milk tea I downed since then :). Need to find a cure to this milk tea and froyo addiction before I go broke. Damn Gong Cha!
