Likha

Likha is a gourmet restaurant located at South Sea Resort and Hotel in Brgy. Bantayan, just a short distance from Hibbard Avenue. The restaurant offers the same menu as Kri - both are owned and operated by a US-trained chef (the family also owns the hotel and other resorts in the greater Dumaguete area). The photos above are all from their official blog: http://southseahotel.wordpress.com/likha-restaurant/.

Ana Maria

Queen Elizabeth cake

Ana Maria is one of the oldest pastry shops in Dumaguete; their caramel brownies, silvanas and Queen Elizabeth cakes are the tastiest in my book. They also serve light meals like pasta and chili con carne. They have the 2 stores, this one is at Silliman Avenue, the other one is at EJ Blanco Drive, Brgy. Piapi.

Cafe Mamia

nice and cozy, very much the typical Dumaguete patisserie

they're still on dry run, the menu boards as you can see are still empty

cherry cheesecake and cream puff

Cafe Mamia is a patisserie and coffee shop originally located in an refurbished sugar mansion along Rizal Blvd. They closed early this year after the building was sold to one of the biggest business families in the city. They reopened today at a location not far from the boulevard - the Perdices residence at the corner of San Jose and Sta. Catalina Sts.

Scooby's Main

This is the newly-renovated Scooby's restaurant at San Jose St., the first store of this homegrown fastfood chain. In place of the old bright red colors, the restaurant is now painted in earth tones and sports an artsy, funky look.

Scooby's Silliman

Scooby's is the city's first fastfood chain and it dominated the market before the 'big-ass bee' came in 1996. I've not eaten here in years so I forgot how their food tastes. Their burger patty actually tastes a lot like Jollibee's albeit thicker. This branch is at Portal West, one of 4 stores in Dumaguete (2 full-sized restaurants, a kiosk at Robinsons Place foodcourt, a snack bar cum internet cafe fronting NORECO plus a 5th one in Tanjay).

Dumaguete Terminal

On dry run is the city's new integrated terminal for public utility vehicles located at the back of Robinsons Place. This will be the new home of multicabs and jeepneys bound for both the northern and southern parts of the province.

Lab-as

they keep live fish, crabs, oysters and lobsters in aquariums so you can
enjoy them as fresh as possible

these paintings are works of local artists, on display this week in many galleries,
colleges and restaurants around the city as part of a Visayas-wide arts expo

baked oysters with cheese

Lab-as (which means 'fresh' in Cebuano) is a culinary institution in Dumaguete. It's a laidback seaside restaurant that serves some of the freshest seafood in town. They source their fish, squid, crabs and shellfish mostly from the nearby cities of Bais and Bayawan, the province's most productive fishing areas. One of their top offerings is Dumaguete Express which is raw fish cubes in a spicy coconut-based sauce topped with chopped grilled pork. What I like best though is their juicy baked oysters, tomato seafood bouillabaisse and crispy pata (boiled and deep-fried pork leg).

Ceres RORO Port

Vallacar Transit, the operator of Ceres Buses, is constructing its own RORO (roll-on, roll-of) port and terminal just outside the city in Brgy. Ajong, Sibulan. This facility will serve the growing Negros to Mindanao (Zamboanga Peninsula) route.

Ted's La Paz Batchoy

Ted's is one of the pioneer batchoy houses in Iloilo City. Batchoy is a noodle soup made with beef/pork broth and topped with slivers of fried liver and beef tips and caramelized onion slices. The local branch opened 2 years ago at Robinsons.
