       Pinky's Cafe and Patisserie is a new cake and sweets shop along the North Nat'l. Highway, fronting GSIS. They make a wide variety of cakes and pastries similar to what's sold at Goldilocks and Red Ribbon. I like their moist chocolate crinkles and truffle cake best.

Update (August 13, 2013): Pinky's now carries Fruits in Ice Cream (FIC) products.

Jollibee North Road

This store was built on a portion of Silliman University's land so it had to conform to strict architectural standards set by the National Historical Institute.

          Trying out Jollibee's take on the double-fried chicken trend at the chain's North Road branch (the city's 2nd Jollibee store and only drive-thru restaurant). I'll give the new 'Crispy Wings' 4 out of 5 stars, coming pretty close to the taste and crunchiness of BonChon :). I'm now officially a fan.

Update (August 13, 2013): Below are post-renovation photos of the store. They built cubicles, changed the chairs, repainted the whole bldg. using the exact same color scheme.

Cafe Filomena

         

         Cafe Filomena is the in-house restaurant (or cafeteria if you may) of Bethel Guest House, one of the city's bigger hotels. They serve pre-cooked meals and coffee among others. 

Acme BPO Consulting

       Acme is Dumaguete's latest BPO entrant, one of many small players in our thriving BPO industry. The company is ramping up and presently needs a data encoder and web developer. The facility is at the 2nd level of Sol Y Mar Bldg., Rizal Blvd. Check out hiring and acme for details.

      I was uploading these photos and damn, hunger pangs! Bon Appetea opened yesterday at U-Pension (that nice new inn beside Jo's Chicken at Silliman Ave.), leaving local milk tea addicts no chance of recovery hehe. The shop is spacious and cheerfully colorful and I'm sure hordes of students and yuppies will be flocking here soon. Thanks for coming to Dumzville, Bon Appetea!

       Kurambos Grillhauz is a barbeque/native Filipino restaurant at Hibbard Ave., just a short distance from Harold's Mansion.

     Giuseppe is an Italian restaurant and deli at Inn 13.5 Km, a new traveler's hotel in the resort town of Dauin. They serve authentic Sicilian fare, a bit on the pricey side but well worth it because the portions are huge. It's a franchised outlet, the other branches are in Cebu City, Mactan and Panglao Island catering primarily to expats and Western tourists of course. From Dumaguete, it's a 20-minute drive south, just look for that signage on the left side of the road. Hands down, it's the best Italian food you can have in the Dumaguete area.
