There's only one supermarket serving the northern barangays of Dumaguete and it's a small one with limited choices (Cang's Daro). Will SM eventually open a Savemore or SM Hypermarket in this city? I heard negotiations between the retail giant and the owners of one of the large lots in the north failed again. Even a Puregold store will do; we badly need a decent supermarket in Daro or Bantayan to help decongest the CBD and for the convenience of northern residents.
