Sta. Teresa Restaurant at San Juan St.

Sta. Teresa is hands down the classiest carinderia ever. They offer typical pre-cooked Filipino fare at rock-bottom prices but in a more upscale setting. In fact, it puzzles me how they manage to recoup their money with that pricing scheme :). It's probably because of their loyal following, having started out in an equally well-appointed neighborhood restaurant at Hibbard Avenue and expanding at a downtown branch. They eventually had to close the said branch (at V. Locsin St.) after their rent contract was terminated. The new downtown location at San Juan St. (above), which opened a few days ago, is bigger and much cozier.
